Crew/ Volunteer Race Officers

Fun Races

Fun Races

Open to all sailing boats, with Portsmouth Yardstick (PY) ratings applied by the Race Committee to participating boats. While still competitive, the spirit of the fun races is captured in our slogan – 'We Race for Fun'. As such, the format and makeup of the Fun Races can vary greatly, with traditional 'round the can' racing to pursuit races that may well start with skippers and crew dashing out of Discovery Pub across the lawn and onto their boats. That's good fun, but participants must be old enough to drink. And do drink in moderation when you're off sailing!
