Along with most food and beverage operations in Singapore, the Club has had to rethink its service styles in response to the tightening labour market. We have taken our time over this and have attempted to achieve this in the least disruptive way possible to our existing service standards.
We have however now identified and introduced a new ordering system that hopefully enables us to continue to focus on the service delivery and minimise the disturbance to you, our valued members. From June of this year, we have introduced a new ordering system for the Marina Bistro.
On your arrival, we will continue to meet and greet you and offer you a table, menus and the usual courtesies. When you are ready to order, we ask that you complete the order form provided and head to the newly constructed cashier station to place and pay for your order.
We will input that order into our system and provide you with a locator disc that we ask you to place on your table at the indicated place. This will identify both your table number and location, to our kitchen team who will prepare your food. You need do no more. Once ready, our service team will collect your order from the kitchen, and deliver it to you, at your table.
As with all these things, we anticipate a bit of a learning curve and seek your kind understanding. We believe this nod towards the Singapore Government's drive to improve productivity will improve on service times and hopefully ensure your continued enjoyment of the Marina Bistro. We will operate the same system at our pool side and Discovery Pub for lunchtime. Discovery Pub evening and weekend services will remain unchanged.
